Spring Tower Celtuce is one of the most productive celtuces available. Originally from the Mediterranean, celtuce is a type of lettuce that is grown for its large, swollen stem. Harvest when the edible stem thickens and reaches a length of 8–10" for the best tenderness and taste. The stems have a flavor that is mild to slightly cucumber tasting and are typically sliced and used in stir-fries and soups. We have even used it as a gluten free pasta substitute. Crops grown in cool weather will be milder. The young leaves may also be used in salads. Grow just like head lettuce! 55 days.
