The Isabel pattern is a shimmery champagne color barred over a very light lavender. Seriously, if unicorns were chickens, surely they'd be Isabel unicorns! You can't capture their beauty with a camera. It's just not possible.
Orpingtons are big, friendly dual-purpose birds originally developed in the UK. For many small farms and homesteaders, Orpingtons are the only way to go! Wonderful mothers, they do go broody. There is not much more charming than seeing a mother Orpington and her fluffy new baby chicks peeking from beneath her wings in a field of clover on a sunny day. These are no ordinary Orpingtons, however. These are true English Orps. meaning that they have very large skirting and are much more fluffy than their American counterparts.
They mature at 24 weeks and produce 250-275 light brown large eggs per year.
Please note that the expression of the gorgeous lavender color gene comes at the cost of some feather integrity. We do our best to breed selectively for feather quality but to a certain extent it's possible.
